GUATEMALA: Fiscal compromise to cost at least Q1bn

The deal with congress over the fiscal reform is likely to leave the government with about Q1bn (US$125m) less in revenue than it expected. As the government expected the measures to increase the tax-take by Q3.2bn, the concessions it has made to the opposition parties in congress in the wake of a general strike are far from negligible.
